Material Gesture is built around sewing, knitting and storytelling – centred around women’s health and experience of childbirth. It focuses on the gesture of stitching, which has become a rhythm underpinning their creative process. For Material Gesture Larissa and Eva have created a material form that speaks to this gesture, and to the act of stitching present in the physical creation of their work and the pulling together of narratives.
